Executive Master of Science

The part-time Master of Science Programs of the HECTOR School are tailor-made for ambitious professionals and companies fostering the strategic personnel development of their high potentials. Participants will be able to continue their career while enhancing their engineering competencies and developing their management capabilities.

The seminar week in China is composed of compact knowledge transfer in lectures, case studies, as well as excursions and company tours. The latter will provide participants with profound insights into the practical implementations in a Chinese production environment. The course does not only provide state-of-the-art knowledge transfer on-site, but also allows useful exchange with professionals and executives working in China.

We expect participants to have a first University Degree (Bachelor or equivalent) and recommend a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the specific field of the course.

Production and Operations Management Module Week in GAMI

Since 2015, HECTOR School has partnered with GAMI for the engineering module of its Master Programs in Production and Operations Management in Suzhou. GAMI will not only arrange the lectures and workshops for the students, but additionally, GAMI offered the students the unique chance to experience the Industry 4.0 Demonstration and Innovation Center in the field of smart manufacturing.

GAMI is located in the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and is the official representative office of KIT in China (KIT China Branch). After introducing GAMI’s activities, the students head to the historic center of Suzhou. This is the perfect place to get in contact with Chinese traditional culture. Lectures give an impression of Quality Management and Supplier Management with a strong relation to China. The theoretical knowledge is accompanied by visits of different factories and companies in Suzhou and Shanghai. The students get a deep insight into production processes and quality management. Besides traditional German companies like MTU, Bosch, Carl Zeiss, the participants visit flourishing Chinese companies like Luzhiyao or HTS.

GAMI also organizes different cultural events. Food culture is for example a big part of Chinese traditional culture. Prof. Lanza kindly invited HECTOR School students to their first dinner in a local restaurant during the studies in Suzhou. The students tasted BenBang Cai, the authentic Suzhou cuisine. Students visited the historical old town taking a walk along Pingjiang Road or having a field trip to the Humble Administrator’s Garden (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

In between, the HECTOR School students can enjoy a variety of recreational activities, like enjoying local cuisine with the teachers, playing basketball with local university students or showing their singing talent in KTV.
