CuLTURE China Project

Addresses students and (early career) researchers, creating a deeper cultural understanding in science and daily life
Establishes China competence in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, Industry 4.0, and Entrepreneurship

Target Group

A permanent competence network with a China focus is created within the framework of CuLTURE China. Networking was fostered between German and Chinese stakeholders from research, education, and innovation. Students and scientists were equally part of the target group. The following measures were delivered:

Intercultural preparation for research and collaborative projects of students and (early career) researchers
Establishment and expansion of German-China summer schools in the fields of engineering, environmental technology, and entrepreneurship
Arrangement of interdisciplinary theses and internships
Tandem field research projects in China and Karlsruhe
Establishment of a German-China technology forum in engineering and environmental sciences with focus on young scientists
Start-up tours in the field of entrepreneurship
Development of a China Competence Center in Suzhou by developing and applying blended learning concepts and networking KIT activities in China based on an interdisciplinary WeChat platform
