Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gisela Lanza, head of the wbk Institute of Production Science and member of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), initialized a student exchange program. This program will give talented Chinese and German students at the University of Karlsruhe (KIT) the opportunity to write their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis in a global environment in China. Their thesis will cover current aspects of global production and supply chain management and will be written within a close working relationship with multi-national companies. In addition, the GAMI Program is recognized by the examination authority (Prüfungsamt) of the University of Karlsruhe (KIT) as an institution to offer official internships in compliance with the examination regulations for students. Students will be given the opportunity to enhance their understanding of current developments in the areas of global production and supply chain management.

The project "student exchange program for training in the subject area of the international factory planning" is a project within the framework of the "Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for students-BWS plus", a program of the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung. With the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM the KIT enables selected students to participate in a business game of the international factory planning in Suzhou/China. This will be realised in cooperation with the Soochow University (SUDA). The students experience working in an international team and thus develop further their intercultural skills with particular reference to a German-Chinese tasks field.
